Hollywood Glamour in Small Spaces

1_article_658x359.jpg

Don't let small spaces convince you that you cannot do much in the way of design.  It is quite opposite of that.  You can even achieve some Hollywood "glam", like this, in the smallest of places. Be sure to take a gander at this ceiling fan light fixture!! How sassy is that?

Oh, and I just have to mention that most of these accessories for this small place are from Target, Urban Outfitters and even Walmart...imagine that!

03MetWinners.jpg

Just get creative in these spaces and do something that creates a dramatic "Wow Factor"...like this painted (yes, painted!) black-n-white chain pattern on the wall.  Hard to believe it isn't wallpaper, right?  It's much more friendly on the budget this way too!

What a stunning place this little 408 sq. ft. apartment turned out to be...aren't you amazed?  And, it's all pulled together on a small budget with some DIY initiative.  Are your creative juices stirring yet?  If so, and if you need some help designing the plan for your small (or large) space, just let us know...we can help and then YOU can implement the plan!  It's that easy!

Enjoy your "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Ah..."Simply Irresistible"!

Room Rescue...Reveal

I know I've been a little slack in the blogging world lately, but we have been crazy busy getting all of our installations completed before Christmas...and finally, they are indeed done.

Remember me sharing the recent room design for one of our current dining room projects?  In case you missed it you can revisit it here.  I had promised to bring you the entire room reveal...so here it is.  First, here are some "before" photos of the room.

Before

And here are some "after" photos...drum-roll please (ah, come on, humor me!!)  Oh, and we do indeed have a real treat for you...we have the Thanksgiving decor for you to see AND the Christmas decor we did too!!  A double treat I guess you could say!

After

Remember that gorgeous rug we told you about that finally came in?  This is it!

These aren't professional photos and I do believe the cleaning crew moved her lamps a bit...but hey, who can complain when you have someone to clean for you, right?
The table decorations and the buffet piece were all custom made.  We selected each and every item in them and then had them made.  They turned out lovely!

Another drum-roll please...Here are the Christmas photos of the same room...

Another centerpiece for Christmas that we customized.  She loved it!

And yes, the buffet piece was custom-made too just for this spot...what do ya think?

 Close up of  centerpiece...

Close up of buffet sled...

Custom spray we did for the mirror that carries the theme from the table over to the wall...just adds that special touch to finish it off.

Well, there, you have it...our Room Rescue Reveal.  What did you think of it?  We carried the color scheme from the other rooms in the house (kitchen and great room) into the dining room and now the entire house "flows" nicely.  It is warm and inviting and the clients are happy...after all, that's what counts!

Hope you enjoyed!

Be sure to have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Holiday Table Ideas

With our outdoor decorations in place and now that the tree is up (it is, isn't it?)...have you already begun thinking about your Christmas table setting?  If not, then maybe this will help. It's only a week away!!

Vintage
I fell in love with this vintage place setting idea.  You can mix and match vintage and new to create a little character on your table this year.  Look at this "lacy" looking plate...isn't it great!  The little stocking filled with greenery is just that added special touch for your guests.  They will love it!

Casual
For a little more casual look this year you can opt to use your solid color dinnerware, instead of china.  Dress it up with the placemat and napkin...and then add a pewter goblet to snazzy it up a bit more.

Modern
Bring out the metallic gold...and add in some "frilly" china.  I also love these gold stripes on the glasses used with it!  Even the napkins have a sassy little gold edge. How about YOU, is this your style?

Kid-Friendly
For the kid-friendly place setting...this is really cute.  I love the little candies in the plate and the ornament on the side.  Oh, and look at these mini utensils for the kids...perfect for those little hands (by Pottery Barn Kids)!

Well, that's it for today...I hope this gave you a few ideas for your holiday table this year or at least got you started thinking of some of your own unique ideas. We get questions all the time about how to create inviting table settings so we may even share more a little later if time allows.  Be sure to stop back by!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Holiday Heaven!

Today I thought I'd take you on a little "Holiday Heaven" tour of coastal decorating that inspires me.  Am I a coastal girl?  You bet!  Do I live at the coast?  Nope, not yet.  Why, you may ask.  Honestly, I really don't know.  I don't have a good reason...and I even wonder myself why I don't live there yet.  Everyone that knows me wonders the same thing since I absolutely LOVE the beach. Here are a few things that will prove my point...that I LOVE THE COAST!  Enjoy these holiday inspirations...

Make a natural statement by leaving your tree unadorned or liven any space with a faux tree sprayed white.

Wrap the tree’s trunk with larger lights for a more three-dimensional effect.

For a whimisical look with strong visual impact, choose oversize ornaments.

After the holiday season, plant the rosemary in your garden for year-round color and aroma, as well as culinary delight.

Lighten the mood by skipping the heavy linens. Use chargers instead of place mats or tablecloths, and casually slip napkins through rings.

Thanks for letting me share a few of my coastal holiday inspirations with you today.  How about you...do you love the coast?  Do you perhaps live at the coast?  If you do, what is your holiday decorating style?  Colors?  Are they "beachy" colors or traditional holiday colors? We'd love to know.

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Weekend!
