Shopping from Home

I don't know about any of you, but for me, when I just need a "brain break" (especially in the evening) it helps me relax to SHOP!  OK, not out-and-about after a hard day's work, but shopping from HOME!  Any of you like that?  Want to see a few of the latest items on my radar?

JM Shopping-1

First, I started with a few great room selections in green...to reflect all of the green grass I now see sprouting outside once again!  Then I moved on right into the dining room (or breakfast nook I suppose).      I didn't "buy" the tulips on the table as I already had these.

And for a taste of just outside the great room doors...onto the back outside area...I ended up with these gorgeous chairs (don't they look comfy?), some outdoor pillows that are sure to give me my PINK-fix, and a lovely outdoor chandelier...in pink!

So now you can see that I did indeed go shopping, right?  All done in the coziness of home. I have a name for this, I call it...cheap retail therapy (meaning I really didn't "buy" anything yet)! How about YOU...have you shopped online lately? You may want to hop on over to Joss & Main too for more of their great finds before they are gone! You may be able to pull together a few rooms for yourself there.  Enjoy!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Hey Ya'll...

Now that's a bit of "southern" coming out, wouldn't you say!!  Blog-land has not been our priority lately since we are moving in the fast lane with various projects.  Sorry about that folks!  We want to share when we can so here's a little look into our current week's happenings...

A Stickley leather Morris Recliner going in a client's morning room. Funny story, they visited The Grove Park Inn in Asheville (here in NC) last month and spent most of their time in one of these recliners in the lobby area.  It was much to cold to go outside and they fell in love with the cozy comfort and relaxation that this chair offered...after all, that IS what they got away for (R & R)!  Now they've decided to add one (to replace their current recliner) in one of their own rooms.  So, we are working with Stickley Furniture to get them one of their very own!

A gorgeous leather sofa...also from Stickley!  You should see all of the details with the accents in a basketweave leather. You might can tell more about it from the picture below...

This is another piece that we are working on this week!  Can't wait to see it in the client's great room.  You talk about COMFORT...this is it!

Then there is a bedroom project...so needless to say, the work area is covered up with "fabrics"...choices, choices, choices!

Thinking of a chocolate guest bedroom accented in the green and reds...I like this choice ALOT.  It would be entirely different from the other bedrooms - it's upstairs and own it's own...so that's why I'm thinking about taking it in this direction (and because she has a picture that she wants to use in here somewhere and it will work with that too!).

Then there is this one...
AMELIE
...that would look great in there...see, I told you, choices!  Lots of them this week!
Oh, the client, she is open to whatever we come up with...she said she just "trusts our tastes and vision"!  As always though, I keep HER taste, likes and dislikes in mind too.  It's an entire room design - furnishings, bedding, draperies, artwork, accessories...the whole works, so this is just the beginning stages.

On another note - also happening this week...

Black or white shade?  Hum, I'm leaning towards the black one!  What about YOU?  It's a ceramic bamboo lamp in a lovely shade of teal.  Amazing what changing out a lamp shade will do.

And...
We will start working on art placement for a wall going up the stairway...lots of framed pictures to place and hang.  I think we're going to template first then play around with the arrangement on the wall also...the floor can only hold so many ya know!

So my dear readers, that is just a partial peek into our week.  How about YOU?  Do you have good intentions for lots of projects around YOUR house this week...inside or outside?

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Bonus Room Offices

Hello dear readers!  As we begin work on several new projects this week I've had floods of ideas running through my head.  One of these projects will be a new "bonus room home office" for one of our clients...exciting! Do you have a designated home office space...or do you find yourself plopping everything on your dining room table like so many?  Here are a few dreamy home offices I thought I'd share today...maybe YOU will take away a few ideas for a new space just for you!

Simple clean lines...mostly neutral with pops of color.  Lovely!

More pops of color with the whites...love the floors in here.

Even a long narrow place will work...and I adore the pops of BLACK in the draperies and frames!

Simple and charming

Any size niche that's set up for an office is better than any dining room table could ever be...right?

Very simple but the added color really sets the tone for this office space.  Oh, and I'd LOVE to have a new chair like this white one...love it. (I think I'll be on the look-out for one!)

Basic and fairly inexpensive furnishings can be used...could these even be bookcases from IKEA? Or Lowes?  Perhaps.  Maybe even ready-made draperies?  Well done though!

Let's have some COLOR please...wall color is a great way to enhance your office space.  Keep the furnishing neutral and a color change down the road will be easy breezy!

Readers Choice: The Top 20 Home Offices of 2011
I love how this space incorporates a closet as well and how it's painted in a different color...gray and pink...so tasteful.

Home Office Desk of Mary McDonald
I think I've shared one of my "all time favorites" with you before, but this office of Mary McDonald is my kind of office.  I love everything about it...that's all I can say!!

#bonus room office
Another great bonus room office work-station...and I LOVE the shades on these windows!!  Perfect spot to get some real work done.

Bonus room
To sum it all up, I think if I had a bonus room...I'd want a set up sort of like this...an office at the far end...with a small dining spot for those office days where lunch "out" is impossible...and then a nice cozy place to enjoy a good movie, fellowship with friends, or just a quiet spot to get away from it all on occasion.   I think a spot like this would be perfect!

Now, what about YOUR perfect home office...where will it be?  What style best suites YOU?  If you have already created one just for you...please share it with us.  We'd love a peek into YOUR home office too!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!
Ta-Ta for now!
