Around the World

Have you ever thought about using MAPS to decorate your surroundings?  Perhaps you have traveled to other countries and brought back some unique maps...well, don't just pack them away...use them.  Maps are a great way to add some uniqueness to your rooms.  You can personalize your space with maps from special places or maps in certain colors that fit in with your color schemes.

Perhaps you'd like a larger dose of maps...you can use map wallpaper. Depending on the feel and style you want...this is a great choice for making that "wow" factor in any room.  You can wallpaper the entire room or just make a focal point on ONE wall.  How easy is that!

Take a look at a few inspirational photos using maps...

A collage of different size maps is another great look!

I love these bright colors on this map!

Makes your want to travel, doesn't it?  Next time you go to that "some place special" be sure to pick up a map for your home!  You can also usually find some great maps, vintage or modern, on ebay.

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Color Splash

I hope you all had a great weekend! I know that most of us probably had the 9/11 tragedy on our hearts and minds yesterday.  I know I did and I prayed for those families many times throughout the day.

We have some renovations going on in our household right now.  This kept us pretty busy over the weekend.  With painting now underway and some areas completed...it is so nice to stand back and see what a fresh new coat of paint can do!  Whether you change the colors, or just apply a fresh coat, it is such a change.  I did change colors and now I have a lovely back entrance and hallway done in HUMBLE GOLD by Sherwin Williams.  Here is the sample color...

Keep in mind, my dining room is now done in VALENTINE (also SW)...which I believe I shared earlier with you...

I will also be adding a blue/green somewhere along the way too.  I haven't made the exact selection yet (have three or four I like!) but this one will give you the idea of my new color scheme...

Then, the fun part will be adding accessories to enhance my new color scheme!  I am so excited to finally be making a change for ME!  I love helping clients make all of these changes, but truth is, I never seem to find the time to coordinate and plan all the changes for myself.  Sad, but true!  Just being honest here.

So, with that being said, and the fact that I always use Sherwin Williams paint (I just love their paints and the service we receive!) I wanted to share this short video with you about their HGTV line of paint colors...Click Here

Enjoy and Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Luxurious Child's Room

A room fit for a princess...that's how I would describe this beautiful bedroom and bathroom that some doting grandparents had designed for their 7-year old granddaughter.  She now has her own luxury suite for when she visits them.

The walls are covered in hand-troweled Venetian plaster, which is great for kid's rooms because it is very durable. Once the walls were complete, the trim looked out of place, so a pearlized finish was added which matched the room perfectly.

And here is the little princess enjoying all this beauty!

I adore all the accessories in this room!  Simply Irresistible!

Look at the finish on this furniture piece...incredible!

Oh, you've just gotta love this hot pink chair in the bathroom and the little side table...look at this table good...oh so cute!!

I'm sure these grandparents made their little princess feel really special and welcome to visit at any time.  Can you even imagine having a room like this at the age of 7?  Well, I can this day and time, but not back when I was 7 (come on now, I'm NOT really that old either!).  Would you consider going "over the top" for your grandchildren's room...or your own children?  Bet ya would!

Whatever you find yourself doing this weekend...
be sure to make it...
