Irresistible Etageres and Bookcases

This bookcase is a perfect size and a great choice to fill an otherwise blank space in your room.  Simple, yet charming, and available in many colors.

If you have a larger wall area and need a larger scale piece then perhaps this one is for you.  Don't like blue?  No problem, you can select from their many options!  I love the stepped-back look of the sides.

If you want something a little more unique then how about this Avalon bookcase...and don't you love this "cherry cobbler" color shown here?

Here is another timeless look...I just love the detailing of the legs.  It adds that extra flair to your room instead of having basic straight lines on the sides of it.  Do you like or dislike the "flair"?

Another great look for any spot in the home...even the bathroom.  Popping a little color in the room like this is a great look...and then you can pop a little more color around with accessories in the same color. What a great look!

Navy and White

Navy and white is an "elegant and timeless" look...in any room.  Whether in a relaxed, casual style setting or in a very traditional one...wherever, it just seems to work!

Navy walls gives this room a rich inviting look.  There is nothing like adding in these gorgeous navy dining chairs, adding some simple navy accessories...and voila...all the makings of the perfect room!



More navy walls...what do you think?  Could you use this color on your walls?  It creates such a dramatic effect.  Even with this much of the color, look at how there is navy in the artwork matting, chair, throw, bedding...this much is not too much.  It works!




And, designer Mary McDonald is always sure to make a statement in any room...even with navy and white.  Look at that bold geometric rug she added in...it "makes" this room!



Even differing shades of navy or dark blues look nice together...don't you think?  How about this navy table?  I love using end tables and night stands in COLORS...instead of the "norm".



This navy and white toile speaks volumes in this room.  I love it with the clean look of the white bedding also piped in navy.





Another classy design in navy and white...truly "timeless and elegant" and..."Simply Irresistible" in my book!

So, if you want a real classy look in your home...you may just want to try navy and white.  Oh, and it goes with lots of other colors too in case you want to just mix a little in.

Adding Boldness with Rugs

With rugs being a big hit for us at market this year...new styles, new patterns, new color-ways...I thought I'd share some bold statements these rugs can make to your rooms.  

Isn't this glamorous?  Look at how an otherwise dull room, with just solid colors, now looks when this circle rug is added.  It's actually not adding any color, other than gray which is a neutral, but it's the pattern that says "Wow" to this room now.  I just love it...how about you?

Look at how this room is pretty serene in the color pallet...everywhere except for the backs of these chairs and...the RUG!  What a grand addition it makes to this room.  We just recently installed a complete dining room design for a client where we used chairs similar to these and then punched up the room with a bold and striking rug.  "Simply Irresistible"... I do believe!!

Look at this bold greek key rug design that adds the pizzazz to this dark, rich room.  Even though it doesn't add in other colors it still enhances the look and feel of this room. It is what adds the "wow" factor into this space. 

And this chic bedroom...ooh-la-la!  Even though it does have other bold statement items in it (like the headboard, draperies) look at what this rug adds to it.  I love this design and of course, the color of it.  This was also a popular pattern at market this year.

Even your outdoor areas can benefit from a rug that is bright, bold and beautiful...and even a basic stripe can do the trick.
