Holiday Heaven!

Today I thought I'd take you on a little "Holiday Heaven" tour of coastal decorating that inspires me.  Am I a coastal girl?  You bet!  Do I live at the coast?  Nope, not yet.  Why, you may ask.  Honestly, I really don't know.  I don't have a good reason...and I even wonder myself why I don't live there yet.  Everyone that knows me wonders the same thing since I absolutely LOVE the beach. Here are a few things that will prove my point...that I LOVE THE COAST!  Enjoy these holiday inspirations...

Make a natural statement by leaving your tree unadorned or liven any space with a faux tree sprayed white.

Wrap the tree’s trunk with larger lights for a more three-dimensional effect.

For a whimisical look with strong visual impact, choose oversize ornaments.

After the holiday season, plant the rosemary in your garden for year-round color and aroma, as well as culinary delight.
(This is actually a Rosemary Topiary)

Lighten the mood by skipping the heavy linens. Use chargers instead of place mats or tablecloths, and casually slip napkins through rings.
Don't you love the throws on the back of the chairs here?

Thanks for letting me share a few of my coastal holiday inspirations with you today.  How about you...do you love the coast?  Do you perhaps live at the coast?  If you do, what is your holiday decorating style?  Colors?  Are they "beachy" colors or traditional holiday colors? We'd love to know.

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Weekend!

Knock, Knock...

Who's there?  What will people see when they knock on YOUR door this holiday season?  Here's a few great ideas I ran across and thought would be perfect...

Picture frame decoration
A picture frame, berries and a bow...simple and lovely!

Garden inspired garland
If you want to go "all out" this year...how about this garden inspired garland that's made with evergreen branches, pine cones, magnolia leaves, berries and apples.  Beautiful, don't you think?

Star Christmas wreath
I thought this was a simple and sweet holiday look!

 Matching wreaths
Try matching wreaths with ribbon...always a great look!

Outdoor doorway 2
Isn't this just grande?  When one wreath just won't do...try three, putting the largest one in the middle and adding in plenty of ribbon.  Adorn any planters you may have with branches and berries...oh, and even a little "fake" snow if you don't have the real thing!

Traditional Christmas wreath
This one is for those of you with a more traditional style...and how hard is this, right?  "Simply Irresistible" though!

 Sleigh with garland swag
You can even go for a vintage sled beside the door...just dress it up a bit for the holidays.

Presents and wreaths
Now THIS has to be MY fave so far...stacked presents instead of plants...I love it...how creative.  Oh, and you know I love this holiday red rug added to pop more color outside.  Love it, love it, love it!

Cheery Christmas porch
For those of you that want to really light up the front porch area...an outside tree with lots of lights is sure to do just that.  How cozy and inviting!

Hope these help get your creative juices flowing...any ideas of your own?  If not, maybe one of these will work. This year when people stop by and "Knock, Knock"...they are sure to be amazed by all the beauty at YOUR front door!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Easy DIY Artwork

The holidays seem to bring out the desire in people (women mostly) to spruce up their home for the season, however, if the appointment with their designer isn't scheduled far enough in advance...they may not get the help they want in time for the holiday festivities.  So, with that being the case, I ran across this beautiful piece of artwork that is an easy DIY project and can add so much to your room for the holidays.  Sometimes it's as simple as just adding the right piece of artwork!

bhg

This simple technique is used here and isn't it lovely?  It adds so much to this space.  A solid fabric (or wallpaper) mounted on a large canvas with a print fabric (or again, wallpaper) mounted on a smaller canvas...and voila!  Now you have an instant update for your home just in time for the holidays!  Then, just add your Christmas decorations in the colors of your room!  Happy Decorating!

Now, go have yourself...a "Simply Irresistible" Day!
