Tips for "Softening" Your Room - Part Two

I am hoping this post finds you all a little more thawed out than the other day!  I know it's been so cold all around and I bet we are all...counting down the weeks until spring!

We'll continue on with our mission to give you ideas to "soften" your rooms up a bit so they won't be as COLD and HARD (see Part One here if you missed all the details defining what this means).

The next way to soften your room is by using pillows and throws. I bet most of you do this already! Take a peek here in this room...can you tell that the furniture in here would indeed look pretty COLD and HARD...without these bed pillows?  Yep, it sure would.

Here is another bedroom and even though there are regular bed pillows on it...it still feels COLD and HARD...do you think so?

Let's just see how a few decorative pillows and a pretty throw would warm it up and "soften" it...
Softening Your Room - 1
See...it changes the overall feel with just those few things (and some pretty yellow flowers I just HAD to add in too!).  The yellow and white pillow needs to fit in that chair, but doesn't, however I'm sure you get the picture.  This room could actually use a few more tips to 'soften' it up even more so maybe we'll use this bedroom again later and add to it...sounds like a plan!

Here we have a beautifully 'softened' room with flowers (from our Part One tips), pillows and a down comforter (in lieu of a throw).  Now, one more time...imagine this room without these items...COLD and HARD it would be!

Here's us a living room...
How much simpler could it be...two pillows and two throws  - "Softened"!

This one here's always been on my radar for some reason...more pillows and a throw...along with those florals - "Softened"!

If your home needs a little 'softening' just remember there's another easy solution...
Hope you'll stick around because we have even more tips coming up soon.

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep

What do you prefer for bedding in your master bedroom?  Bedspread, comforter, or duvet cover?  Dust ruffle or no dust ruffle? There are so many options these days that I just wondered what you liked best.

Here we have a ruffled dust ruffle and a matching reversible throw folded at the bottom of the bed.  The shams are also ruffled like the dust ruffle.  I think it's quite lovely, do you?

This is pretty much the "typical" comforter with dust ruffle that I tend to see in most new client's homes that we go into to work with.  I'm sure this "look" is familiar to you as well.

Maybe you prefer the more tailored look of a bedspread.  I like the tall upholstered headboard with this one and the use of a long bolster pillow.

Here is another lovely bedspread...which of course goes all the way to the floor so no dust ruffle is needed.

Here is a lovely duvet cover with a pleated dust ruffle (as opposed to a ruffled one).  I love the simplicity of this...how about you?

Another duvet cover with a pleated dust ruffle...do you like? Do you like a white one....or do you prefer a pattern?

Here is a duvet with a shirred dust ruffle instead.  It's a totally different look from above photo...which do you like best?

Just one more in a solid color other than white.  I love the effect of the white bedding with this lavender duvet folded at the end of the bed.  There is also color in the shams and the bolster pillow.  This is really a lovely combination too!

As for me...I am changing over to a duvet I do believe.  I love the "fluffiness" of them and the casual feel of the style.  I will be using a patterned fabric instead of the solid white...or at least that is my thoughts at the moment.  In my world of interior design...my thoughts are forever changing for myself...until time to make that final decision.  What type bedding do you have in your master bedroom?  Guest rooms?

Thanks for stopping by and...
Have a "Simply Irresistible" Weekend!
