A Little Outing

I just may have to venture out to finish up a few fall decorations this weekend...and I was smitten when I saw this in my inbox...

Talk about a warm welcome

I loved this mirrored chest (is Fall a good "excuse" to NEED this piece??) and the decorations on top!  Hey, sometimes it just helps to see something already put together for ya, doesn't it?  No brain-power involved (since I do that every day for clients anyway!).

What are YOU doing this weekend?

Whatever it is...Make it a "Simply Irresistible" one!

More Ideas to get your Home ready for Fall

Would you like more ideas for getting your home ready for Fall?  I am continually looking at great ideas to share or try for myself.  I know we've looked at a few, but here are a few more to inspire you for this change of seasons...

Autumn Curb Appeal
I just love using mums and lots of them too...adding potted ones like this is a sure way to add color to your front entrance...and go ahead, add in a few white pumpkins for some contrast.  The hanging mums and the paper lanterns also help frame the area to say "welcome".

Pumpkins on Display
Why not add a few colorful petite pumpkins in your dining room hutch or display cabinet for a lovely touch of Fall...either plain ones or decorated with a little bit of paint.  It's such a simple thing to do yet it adds alot on "punch" for Fall.

Seasonal Addition
Or...just add some different items of interest in "here and there".  Simple, yet lovely!

A Toast to Fall
This happens to be just a pewter cup, purchased from a flea market, with several sprigs of greenery, beach plum branches, and red hypericum berries added to make this lovely arrangement. Simple!

Mini pumpkin candlesticks
What a great little DIY project...especially if you have kids that would enjoy a little project.  Candleholders that are made from miniature pumpkins...how neat is that?

It's as easy as 1-2-3:

1) Just cut a hole in the pumpkin the size of the base of a tapered candle.
2) Then hot glue miniature pine cones, berries, and some dried moss around the edge of the hole.
3) Now, just insert the candles and...voila!  You have some great candles to use on your table.

Silver pumpkins on crystal vases
If you want to snazz it up a bit more...then maybe this one is for you.  Paint the pumpkins metallic silver and try this easy idea.  Notice how the silver items are "layered" for an elegant look with different heights!

Pumpkin chandelier
I thought this was a unique creative way to add both color and seasonal spunk to the room.  Ribbon is attached to paper mache gourds with hot glue and hung from the chandelier. Then, to finish it off a garland of leaves was wrapped around the arms of the light fixture. (TIP - use a contrasting ribbon instead of matching it to the gourds!)

Initial Greeting
Not your typical standard fall colors here, and that's why I like it.  Any colors really, mixed with white pumpkins and some fall foliage, will dress that front door area right up!  What do YOU think of this one?

Leafy Pumpkin Mantel Arrangement
I simply adore this idea...and the fact that it even coordinates with the wall color and the colors in that beautiful painting over the mantel..."Simply Irresistible", no doubt!  These are petite pumpkin peppers (known as Solanum Integrifolium) with the stems arranged in a vase and then surrounded by other fruits and greenery.

Gourd vases
Dried gourds make elegant vases especially when grouped together like this and filled with fall flowers.

fruit and indian corn wreath
You can also find, or make, harvest wreaths to hang from the back of your dining room chairs with ribbons. Be creative and select your own fall colors and style.  What a great look!

Pumpkin and Roses Centerpiece
What's not to love about a pumpkin turned into a lovely vase for a fall floral arrangement?  This one even has apricot-color roses added...it's really lovely, don't you think?

Lilies, Chrysanthemums, and Pokeweed Berries flower arrangement
Another one displayed on a tray and surrounded with leaves, small gourds and fruit.

Vintage Centerpiece
A tray of any sort, dashed with some colorful glass, ribbon and some...texture...like pecans, corns, wheat sprays...is sure to make a hit during this fall season.

holiday squash and flowers on tray
So, I'll leave you with this...decorating for Fall doesn't have to be hard.  Just be creative, think outside the box, use "nature" along with some items you may already have...and see what you come up with.  We'd love for you to share any decorating ideas you may have for Fall...come on, do tell.

Thanks for stopping by, and, as always...

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!
