Brightness in your Day!

Just popping in to say Happy Tuesday and to share a little brightness into your day!

I fell in love with this room and it's traditional furnishings and lighting...yet it's all done in bright neon colors!  No patterned fabrics, just several solids to get this look.  How FAB is this?

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Million Dollar Decorator Fun

How many of you out there are watching Million Dollar Decorators?  Just wondering!  This vacation get-away was done  "out of the norm" for Jeffrey Alan Mark (JAM)...he had to order it all from a CATALOG...not custom like he is use to doing.

I know many people show-watchers are teasing about him feeling that this was an impossible task...to produce a beautiful serene home...all from a CATALOG.  I can sort-of relate, as it is hard to go from custom where you make the exact fabric selections, then the style selections, the exact size you need for the space, etc...for a perfectly creative custom-look...to browsing through a catalog for the right (here's the hard part - the RIGHT products) window treatments or upholstered furniture.  Seriously, I CAN relate.  We do alot of custom products as well and sometimes it can be frustrating to search and search for just the right things you need...BUT...it can be done!

When the budgets are tight and don't make room for custom products, we too help our clients by making selections that are less expensive.  Some of our lines are to-the-trade only, so it's not necessarily from a local store or a catalog.  However, if it's a client  request...or if it's a DIY design plan (remember, be sure to stay tuned for a new announcement from Alpha & Omega Interiors soon!) then we can make it all happen through catalogs.  We desire to give YOU the look YOU desire...and keep within your budget!

I just love the layered rugs in here...do you?

JAM
What fun ottomans he used in front of the sofa...and the "simple" accessories on them too...really folks...it's all in the DETAILS!

I liked this serene bedroom with the gray chevron rug...and the little nook furnishings as well.  What a great spot to read, work...or BLOG from!  Simple and serene...what beauty!

So, if YOU haven't watched the show...you just might want to tune in sometime.  If you're into all things design...then I'm sure you will find it inspiring!

For those of you that want to make changes in your home for 2013, but don't know where to start...or how to do it...let us know.  Our design team would love the opportunity to help you.  We've been designing since...1986.  Now THAT, is a long time!  We simply LOVE what we do!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Fun Art

Over-sized artwork....LOVE it!  This surely gives this room an entirely different feel, wouldn't you say? A very unexpected design for beside a fireplace yet it works.  And for those of you that know me...the theme makes it even more appealing to me.  A little bit of heaven in this corner!

So how about YOUR artwork...do you have any over-sized pieces with unique themes in your home?  If so, do tell.

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Weekend!

Design-A-Room (Day #5)

Well, until we can get this problem issue resolved...this will be our last post on designing a room as we go...sad, but true.  As we work on our layout to add each time, it strangely posts to ALL previous posts...not just one, but ALL of them...before we even publish it.  It is the weirdest thing I have seen in awhile, so until we can resolve it we will just move on to other good things in the design world!

Today we are back to add a few more pieces to our room design that we are creating as we go.  I wanted to see how it looks when we added a few more pillows to those colorful chairs...with more of the same fabric we put on the sofa pillows...

GH Fabric-1

OK, I like repeating the fabric in the room.  This helps with the flow of things and of course, gives even more of a "pop" of color...remember, this is our BRIGHT, BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL room design!

And I'd like to see a side table (or two) with these chairs.  What about these garden stools...too much color for YOU?  Not for us!  You can find these many places and in many different colors.  I love them...indoors, as well as outdoors!

Medallion Garden Stool

Now I want to add us some window treatments to "soften" the area.  I think using just panel draperies in here would do the trick.  We have alot going on in here already, so let's just keep the window treatments simple...shall we?  These are from Pottery Barn.
Silk drapes

I see a big "hole" in the design plan...a blank spot....can you guess "where" it is?  Let's test YOUR eye for this design plan.  OK, I'll tell you, it's that bare wall over the sofa...that is assuming the sofa is placed against a wall in our room design.  What about this one?

In Bloom Ii Canvas Wall Art Ii Blue

Sure, let's try it!

And...for another wall in that room, we'll add a pair of these...

"Orange Botanical Print III, Rustic Frame"
I get asked sometimes..."will these colors work together?".  Would YOU ask this same question here about this set of art..."will they work in the room with the orange?"  The answer is YES, take a look at the art over the sofa.  It even has both colors in it...so YES, again.  It works!  Be creative.

Last, but not least...let's add in a few accessories to that coffee table ottoman.  (Which you may have already seen with that crazy posting ahead that's been happening!)

S/2 Etched Rectangular Trays

Like a beautiful tray (which you could actually use as well when you have guests...or even for yourself, right?)

And then there is this...yes, in ORANGE...

Orange Roses in Hourglass Vase

Let's top off that ottoman with some gorgeous roses like these on that tray...good?  To your liking?

So, to finalize the Design-A-Room...here is what we came up with.  Take a look...(and if you are just now joining us in this design a room, keep in mind this room is somehow posting to ALL days of this series, deleting the previous one...again, so strange!)

Ta-Da!  Hope you like and that you enjoyed the process of designing this room.  Sorry to end it so abruptly, (we NEED accessories on those shelves too!!) but hopefully it helped YOU.

If you'd like a custom design plan just for YOU...let us know.  We'd love to work with you!  Just send us an email (i.e. comment) and one of our designers will get back in touch with you.

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Weekend!

Design-A-Room (Day #4)

Hello...welcome back to our Day #4 about building our room design. We've been slammed with work for clients (a good thing though!) so we've missed a few days...when that happens, just know we are working on "real" design plans and projects (we do alot of full-service design) and we'll be back asap.  With that in mind, let's get started...

We have decided that in order to ground the room a little more we are in need of a large piece of furniture...to add some balance to the overall design ... and ... some storage and bookcase areas.  So, we've come up with this...

Miranda Bookcase with Hutch

A lovely bookcase with some storage behind the doors (available here).  This will be a great addition to the room as we can accessorize the shelves and pop some color in there as well...sounds like a plan, right?

Now, we will definitely need some more seating in this room...and I want this room to be bright and bold...so with that in mind...take a look...
Hickory Chair Paris Club Chair

How about using a pair of these Hickory Chair Paris Club Chairs in this fabulous, bright and bold orange!  Hickory Chair has a great website that allows you to customize pieces of furniture with most any fabric and you can see how it will look finished.  That's what we did...picked our chair style then selected our fabric...and voila! Can you see these in our room along with that new fabric we used on the sofa pillows?  I say...yes, yes, yes!  Let's do it!

This is how our room now looks on Day #4...what do YOU think?

Build-A-Room #1

With it being Friday and also Mother's Day weekend it was all I could do to stop myself from presenting this room with a few accessories (you know, the pretty things that truly "make" the room!)...but I did...so no surprises yet.  Let's finish the other aspects first and then we'll move on to that...so stay tuned!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day ... and...

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms out there!!

Children are a blessing
and a gift from the Lord.
