Paisley...Making a Come Back

Hello readers!  It's been awhile. I wanted to share a bit of interesting High Point Furniture Market trends with you...do you remember PAISLEY?  I certainly do!  Well, I'm here to let you know it's making a come back...in 2013.  Take a look at what one of our vendors released at market.

Now, I bet you remember this pattern, right?  This 600 year old (yes, that's right, 600 years!) paisley symbol is back. Here are some of the new products...

A single paisley teardrop on this lovely organic pillow cover.  I just love these!

These rugs are available in two earth-tone color ways and have the paisley along with a detailed key border...stunning!

Not only is this paisley print awesome, but so is this Moroccan style arch on these ottomans!

More pillows...

This beauty is hand-knotted from pure mountain wool that is hand-spun, hand-dyed and sheared to create this aged patina look. 

This "Blossom" collection is from the early paisley fabrics that was woven in Britain for clothing and home decor.

Even their best selling pillow top bench got a make-over with this new paisley fabric.  Don't ya just love it?

The secret is out...more paisley for 2013...both in home decor and fashion trends.  Are YOU ready for some paisley pattern?

Fantastic Finds!

Happy Monday dear readers!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend doing something that you enjoy!  For the start of our week I wanted to share with you what I found while out just "browsing"...

These scrumptious lamps and shades and pillows...aren't they great? 

And then there's these pillows...and these little mirrors here...ah...I love them.  What great accessories to dress up any navy and white room...or even another color room and add just a "pop" of the navy with these.

And then there was this color...are ya lovin' it as much as I was?

Now...guess where I saw all of these at...TARGET!  I couldn't believe it...I had not been in Target in forever and I can't resist going through the home decor department in any store...I couldn't believe my eyes.  I thought they had a great selection to choose from...and with styles like this...no one would ever have to know where they came from, right??? (But, then again you could SHARE these good finds with others!!)

Ok, now let's take a look at what else I found...elsewhere, that is.

I adore shades like this...and found one at a really "sweet" price.

I know I'm on a pillow frenzy, but I couldn't resist these sassy little throws...how about YOU...can you use this much "sass" in your room?  No problemo for me!

I just wish I had a place for these here...style, color, size...perfecto for just about any space.  Just not my color!  

What about these lovely finds...bet YOU could find a spot for some of these.  

I admit...I NEED (yes, "need"!) these here for my wished-for beach house...don't ya think?  Too bad, it really is wished-for at this point...but maybe one day, huh?  A girl can dream, right???

So if YOU want to find some quick, pick-me-up deals like these here...head on out today to Target...or Homegoods.  That is where I found the rest of these Fantastic Finds.  Don't ya just love them?

Top Tips - #3

Let's get back to some of those "Top Tips"...design tips we use quite frequently to update or change decor.  Another great and easy way to change the look of your room is to add, or change out, PILLOWS!  Whether it's a living room, great room, or even bedroom...this will do the trick!  This is almost always a must in every design project we do.  Take a look...

Here we have different shades of blue and patterns displayed on the sofa.  Notice that the patterns don't fight one another since they blend in color and are not the same in pattern size (fabric pattern that is!).  Also added is the solid green pillow...which is an accent color.  This green picks up and carries over the green from the accessories (the apples and flower stems).  Can you tell how easy this would be to change out when you tire of these?

Here is another example of how pillows can impact a room.  Mixing colors and patterns is a great way to add more personality to a space.  I just love this color palette...what about you?



Hot off the press...this photo from the 2011 Hamptons Designer Showhouse is exquisite and the pillows are partially the reason!  I know, the headboard also punches it up a bit more, but even without that you can see how just the pillows make a dramatic statement...like they could in one of your rooms! Be bold, be daring....try it! I believe you will be amazed at the results.

Changes don't always have to be large or even expensive to create a new look.  If you didn't see our posting on "Pillow Talk" back a long time ago...you might even want to visit it.  Pillows can be custom-made or you can now even find many fabulous styles, colors, sizes, etc...in your local stores.  With today's "tip" you don't have to delay making some appealing changes in your rooms...start with new pillows.

Friday Finds!

Whew...this has been an incredibly busy week here at Alpha & Omega Interiors. We have several new design programs "in the works" that we hope to announce in the very near future...right here on our blog! In working on our client projects this week we have seen SO many new and wonderful pieces of furniture, stunning new fabrics, gorgeous artwork....and the list goes "on and on".  I can certainly understand why so many of our clients tell us "the less choices, the better".  I certainly do see how it can be extremely confusing for most people to try and decide exactly which pieces they like the best AND which ones will all work together. So, in saying all of this...today will be just a conglomerate of many things!

Here is a new sofa introduction from one the furniture lines we carry, Lee Industries (see entire collection at Leeindustries.com). I love the "white" (available in many other fabric options as well) because then you are able to pop any color scheme with it. 

Here we have their new chair introduction but without the skirting.  I love this classy style (in any of their fabrics!). But, for today, let's pop some of that color on these with one of these new stunning fabrics...perhaps this new release...

Here is the new "Chinese Chirpendale" fabric from the Tobi Fairley collection...absolutely stunning in my eyes...in any color!

Or how about this oversized Damask (also in the Tobi Fairley collection) in any of these scrumptious colors?  Can you see that pair of white chairs now...in any one of these colors?  I certainly can!  These are definitely...a "Simply Irresistible" find.

   

 

  

Or...dash those neutral furnishings with just a pop of color from some Jonathon Adler pillows!  That's sure to turn your "drab" into "fab" in an instant.

"Mirror, mirror on the wall"...take a look at this lovely "Perched Bird" mirror with a heavily antiqued silver finish and burnished distressing. Why not add one to your decor? 

Is it simply time to change those out-of-date ceiling light fixtures...you know, the ones you have had there forever?  What do you think of this style...how fashionable is that?

 

Now for the floors...which makes SUCH an impact to any area.  This is one of the new introductions in a popular line we use quite often.

For those of you that enjoy browns and more muted shades of color, here's another new intro in our rug line. Isn't it stunning as well?

    

                                                     

Here's a look at some great Robert Abbey gourd lamps we've been working with.  They are available in many great colors that will go with most any color palette.  At market, they even introduced 'lucite' bases...so now your base options are unlimited no matter what your taste. Let's admit...wouldn't a pair of these be "Simply Irresistible" with one of those new fabrics shown today...WOW!  Or...how 'bout a pair of the blue gourd lamps with that last new rug in brown and blue? Oh, just one more thought...how about the red gourds sitting along side that white sofa combined with that new black-n-white area rug? A very classy look indeed!
