Fabric & Design of The Week

Happy Monday dear readers!  From our inbox to yours today is one of our vendor's chosen fabrics of the week...

Isn't it stunning?  Well, in my opinion it surely is!  So stunning that we will use it in our newest project...a ladie's master bedroom.  She wants to use a few items she already has, but add some GLAM in blues and gray.  Here's what we have custom designed just for her!

Navy and Gray Bedroom

We'll use this fabric for a custom duvet on the bed to coordinate with a gray bedskirt, along with gray euro shams...and we'll also use the print for a couple of throw pillows on the chairs in the reading nook we've planned for her.  The solid gray drapery panels will have greek key trim.  A few accessory selections to fit the 'feel' of the room she wanted and...voila!

What do YOU think?  We've got a few more details, such as the rod finish for those custom drapery panels, and a mirror to select (every woman need this, right?) but aside from that...we are done.

If you would like for our design team to custom design a room plan just for YOU...email us. We have both 'e-design' available and a full custom 'design in a box' plan with samples of materials and finishes included in the package that will be delivered to you.  Whichever service you prefer AND whether you are local or long-distance, we can work with you!

Thanks for stopping by and...

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

High Point Furniture Market - New Art Release Preview

I was a happy camper this morning to find some market previews in our 'inbox'...a few of which I can certainly see us using in upcoming design projects around here.  Want a peek?

product image

This mirror with a 'wave' effect and it's champagne gold finish with a dark rub...yes, please.  Available in a 42" round.

I just adored these colors in this piece of art.  I quickly imagined all of the beautiful fabrics I could easily pair with it.

Then, there were these...ah!  I could envision a very tranquil room with lots of neutrals. Pretty thought, huh?

Look at these luscious beauties and the realness of the water drops.  What kind of room could YOU envision using these? I just love the pop of turquoise.

This one is for all of you lavender/purple-lovers out there.  Stunning, don't ya think?  There is actually a pair of these that would work well together.  I can just see them now...paired with soft shades of gray in a room.
Just a really fun diptych of a cruiser...where do YOU think this should go?

Beautiful colors here portraying the beach!

Silver petal mirror....49" round.

Last but not least

Natural sticks intertwined into a piece of art...a unique piece!

So, that is the art preview for today.  I will also try to share more new items that will be released at High Point Furniture Market this month.  So...stay tuned!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Fall Color

What inspires you this time of year?  Where do you get your fall inspiration for COLORS?  Seeing that we probably all dislike (well, maybe not 'all') saying goodbye to summer and all of it's bright and cheerful colors...did you know you CAN punch up color even in the days of fall...you can!

This beautiful durable outdoor rug is from one of the lines we carry.  It just really captured my attention this morning with it's bold 'pop' of color...which just happen to be colors for this season too!  Isn't it lovely? A porch, lanai, or even a sunroom could be easily transformed for fall around this scrumptious rug! Change your cushions and/or throw pillows to accent a few of these lovely colors and...VOILA...a new look...for a new season!

Calliope Pillows - ClayCalliope Pillow - MauiCalliope Pillows - Spice
(Not too sure monitor resolutions will make these pillow choices a perfect color match, but you get the idea, right?)

Pre-lit Grapevine Pumpkins
Oh, and don't forget your fall pumpkins!

What about you...will you be spending the cooler days still enjoying the outside?  I know I surely will. Do you transform your outdoor space...just for fall?  We'd love to know!

Thanks for stopping by...

My Saturday Happy Place Room of the Week

It's weekend again...can you even believe it? The days seem to pass by so quickly!  I just wanted to pop in and share a room that I voted as my 'happy place' for this Saturday morning.

I love the soft tranquil colors of the sea used in here along with the pillows and artwork displaying beautiful seashells.  The woven wood shades and cute little side table bring in a touch of texture in this space...which I love.  So, I voted this little area my 'happy place' for today.... so, Happy Saturday!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Wallpaper Mania

You do know that wallpaper is making a comeback in the world of design, right?  It is and I am happy about that!  After years of having wallpaper myself...when it came time for 'change' and I only wanted painted walls...I felt the entire 'feel' of my home changed! Not that it wasn't a good change, but it just felt so bare to me.  I guess because wallpaper makes a statement, you get use to it, and then all of a sudden it is GONE! Does anyone know what I mean? Of course that's when you add in other things such as more art, mirrors, etc...all the other beautiful things that add that warmth and feeling back into your home.

BUT...I had not really realized just how popular the REMOVABLE wallpaper is also becoming!  I know exactly why too...you aren't 'locked in' to it for years and you certainly don't have the mess and the expense of removing it later. If wallpaper doesn't come off your walls easily (even with a professional) it can make a huge mess and end up costing more than you'd planned.

I headed over to J & M and simply could not believe my eyes! The choices that even they had for removable wallpaper...oh my!
Here is just a sweet picture of what the right kind of wallpaper can do to transform a room!  And...it's BIRDS and PINK...woo-hoo...two of my faves!

What about some 2" gold dots

Take a look at some others I found simply irresistible...

Wouldn't this be so pretty in a little girl's bedroom...maybe even on just ONE wall.

I love this chandelier decal here!  Oh, yes please!

This one if you wanted to keep things toned down a bit, but still have some interest and texture.  It would even be nice to use in the back of a bookcase...to add in more charm.

I'm sure this pattern is popular too!

Hum...a great guest bathroom idea perhaps!

I was just thinking also, what a GREAT way to add some pizzazz to a home especially if you RENT.  Sometimes you may feel so limited to what you can do in a home you rent, but this would definitely solve that issue...since it's removable!

How about some gold dots that are a little larger...I think these are 3 inches.  What a lovely foyer idea...ya think?

And look, you can also wallpaper other items...such as tables!  What a great, easy and affordable way to dress up some furniture you may have.  I love this one here!

Oh my....how cute and creative is this one here?  Where in the world might I use this one?  Not sure I have a place, but perhaps YOU do.

What great headboard ideas!

Who could forget the classic b/w wide stripes!  Love this one too!

More fun birds...where to put?  Maybe in a breakfast nook perhaps?

And I simply love these birds...looks like they are really hopping around in the room on the headboard and lamp, doesn't it?

Decisions, decisions, decisions....and as if that isn't enough, you need to head on over to Joss & Main for even more removable wallpaper themes and colors!  Yes...MORE!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Decorating Wall Niches

Hi, lovely readers!  Are you getting in gear for the upcoming long weekend to celebrate the 4th of July?  I bet most of you are!

I guess you could say I have 'designer's block'...when it comes to wall niches.  The simple fact is...I do not like them...at all. So with that being said, my question to you is...how do YOU decorate wall niches if you have them in your home?

Here are a few photos I found...
An iron ornamental?

Framed pictures?

A niche with a ledge could house a floral, right? I do like the contrast paint in the niche...I think.

Yes, I do like the contrast...yet, I still can't bring myself to like niches at all...what's up with me?

Even here, in a nicely framed wall niche...to me...it's way 'too busy' and 'clutters' the wall.  And, what else would you even consider putting here?

Candles?  Ugh!  Perhaps some sort of mural here might work?

Here is a home I was in that had a huge mirror inserted into a foyer niche.  At first glance I thought "it's ok"...but, honestly that mirror would be much prettier on a solid wall...it sort of looks crammed into the niche!  What do YOU think?  Give me YOUR opinions please!

In ALL of computer-land I have yet to find one single idea for a wall niche that I even remotely like!  So, let me ask...is it just ME?  Or do any of YOU out there have issues with these special niches?  Any great ideas?  If so, do tell.

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!
