Random Inspirations

Here are just a few little things that are inspiring me this week...

This PINK chair!

Rather than to "Keep Calm and Carry On"...I prefer THIS!

Beautiful little 'pops' of color in an otherwise neutral room...LOVE this look! And I KNOW I have one follower out there that has a 'purple passion'....you know who you are!

I was really intrigued when I spotted this Late Night S'mores post...I now MUST try this!

But then I also saw this cute idea...what is it with ME and S'MORES this week?

And then there were these...

On another note:  Our workroom is delivering our custom products for a client install we have tomorrow so I 'may' just pop in later today for a sneak-peek of it before it's installed. We'll see how the day goes...!

Model Home Tour Day #2

Sorry folks...I'm a few days late on the continuation of our tour, but "better late than never" as the old saying goes!

This is a different model home that I thought I'd give you a peek into...ready to go?

Come on in...
Think I might would add a runner here!

Not such good photography in here folks...sorry!
This doesn't do it justice, but the counter-tops (loved the black) and the tile were gorgeous in here!

Both kitchen pictures turned out blurred...or shaky from my excitement of being there!

Here's one that shows it much better.  Of course I really took this because of this cute accessorizing idea!

The master bedroom in yellow and gray

Not too sure if someone had been crawling around on this bed...or if it was just meant to be that 'fluffy and imperfect'. I loved the choice of rug with this fabric!  Do you?

Being that I LOVE window treatments of all sorts...you should have known I'd get a shot like this!  A perfect choice here for the sliding glass doors (my opinion, of course!).

A beauty of a master bath

Loved this walk-in shower!

A view to the front door from the great room...check out the lamps in here too!

Now for the really fun part of this house...the laundry room...it has a CRAFT CENTER!  I instantly saw this space as a great scrapbooking place...I'll show you more and you'll see why THIS was the fun room...to me.

I could surely find a place for everything I needed in here...

I just loved this on the wall with the washer and dryer...
First word is...SOAK...by the way!
Isn't this a fun idea in this room?  Now, how many of YOU will get to work on this cute little DIY project?  It might even make doing laundry a little more fun, ya think?

And MY favorite spot in this home...right out back!
I think I may linger here a little longer...!

Have "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Model Home Tour Day

I wanted to share some pictures I took of some model home decorating back awhile ago.  I simply LOVE to tour model homes, do you?  I enjoy seeing the work of others and I almost always walk away inspired...and maybe even with a few new ideas!

Feel free to grab some coffee or tea and join me on this random tour here...

I take no credit for the decorating in these homes and I have no clue 'who' did these.  When we've done models we always are sure to put our name in there somewhere.  So, no credits for the work are given here and that's why.

A cute little home office for two

Now, on to a different model home...

Nice open space here, isn't it?

Here is one of those spots in the model that I walked away with inspiring new ideas!  I thought this was indeed lovely!

Nice, huh?

Cozy in the master bedroom

Placed at the foot of the bed was this!

Guest bathroom...love the custom shower curtain in wide stripes!

A wall in one of the guest bedrooms...bet some of you fabulous DIY'rs will  may be all over this adorable little idea...any grandparents touring with us today?  I just loved this little creative touch!

The corner of that same room

And if that isn't cute enough...the bed is a BOAT!

Personally, I'm not too keen on wall niches, but I found this one to be nicely done with the accent color on the wall and some accessories above the entertainment center to add the needed height.  What about YOU? Do you like niches?  How do decorate them?

That ends the tour for today, but I hope you'll come back tomorrow because we're going on another model home tour...with some great ideas that you won't want to miss.  See you then!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

The Art of Color

Isn't it funny how color can change everything?  It's true.  Whether you are giving a vintage piece a good 'ole makeover - say spray painting a gold mirror YELLOW for instance- or selecting color for your entire room...what you decide on will effect the overall mood and style of the room.

Make a Statement
I thought this was a beautiful room done in all neutrals...but then, even a dash of soft pink (my fave, of course!) changes it.

Whiteout
Not only the color of soft goods and accessories, but also the wood finish on furniture effects the mood of a room.

Perfect Arrangement
Colors in a rug even change the entire feeling in a room.

Designing with Basics
This room here would feel even 'lighter' or more 'airy' if the rug were not as dark...imagine...like the rug below...

Tied Together

Collective Effort
More color...more changes in the mood.

A little tip I learned long ago, even to use on myself, is to get samples of fabrics, wood samples, rug (even a catalog or brochure - or print if off the website), tables, sofas, chairs, etc...and put it all on a design board.  Then, believe it or not, you can then FEEL how your room will sort of 'feel' when it's completed.  It really works!  We do this for our clients (because let's face it, they usually can't imagine)...and for ourselves if it's an entire room.

Here is an example of one we did for a client (may have shown you this one before with the Room Reveal).  The fabrics to the far right are in her guest bedroom #1 and the stripe in the middle is in the bathroom that adjoins the two bedrooms...the rest of the board are the selections for guest bedroom #2...and it shows her how all of the rooms will flow together, but yet be distinctively different from one another.  When she looked at the board...she could actually 'feel" the mood of the room and see what it would look like.
If you cannot imagine...then it's well worth it to take the time to do one of these for yourself.

So what is YOUR color?  What mood or style is YOUR preference in a room?  Do you use design boards for yourself?

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Client Design Board

Happy Monday!  Hope you enjoyed your weekend.  I know I did.

Here's a little peek at one of the design boards we did for a client's upstairs guest bedroom recently.  This room is across from the bonus room area.  All of the products and custom bedding/valances have been on order and a few are already here. The rest will be in next week for us to install...Yippee!
Brad U-GBR

This room will have a slight "western" flair to it as it was designed around the horse picture (shown above the headboard-which is where it will hang also) that the client had and really wanted to use somewhere in the house. The paint chip (center of board) is the wall color-"Macadamia"-SW#6142.  The board doesn't show all of the little details such as red cording around the inside of the brown floral pillow shams (to go in front of the creme euros)...the headboard in the brown floral fabric with nailheads, the 'custom' chair cushions (ones shown here are ready-made ones) that will be made from the same red fabric that is on the window valances and bedding trim, this perfect finish that is on this mirror we have added, the heavy distressing on the red lamps, etc...but, hopefully the "after" pics will reflect it all.   The TV stand style has changed from this original one shown, but it has a rustic look to it and will be the perfect size and style for this room.

Oh, here, I do have a little shot of it when it came in...along with a few other products that are here.  It's a fun piece for that room!

Hope to share more with you once it's all installed.  Now, as always, we just 'hold our breath' until it's all done and client is HAPPY!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!
