Decorating with Florals

I simply LOVE adding final touches to our client's rooms with...florals!  Not just any florals, but especially hydrangeas.  There is just something about them that I adore.

And "to me" they are even better...in PINK!  However, since that isn't the chosen color in most of our projects...then any color that will compliment their decor will do.

For one room we are in the process of acessorizing, we will need to use a periwinkle blue.

Now you DO know that they come in many differing shades and colors, right?  They mass produce too, I do believe!  Just look at all the blooms.

Hydrangeas are our "go to" florals...in any room...any style.

Do you know what makes hydrangeas even more special?  They are really a great mix with just about any other kind of flowers.  See!!

Sometimes all you need is just a simple vase with one large stem...it will do the trick to "soften" the area...and add some color if you want.

When we don't want to add color, but need the softening effect then we usually use these.  They are perfect in any spot!

And don't forget the kitchen...yes, kitchens need some TLC too ("softening").  You'll be amazed of the warmth it creates in just about any place you put...HYDRANGEAS!

Now, how about you...do YOU decorate with hydrangeas?  If not, give it a try.  It's such an easy and inexpensive way to add charm in your home!

Have a "Simply Irresistible"  Day!

A Little Outing

I just may have to venture out to finish up a few fall decorations this weekend...and I was smitten when I saw this in my inbox...

Talk about a warm welcome

I loved this mirrored chest (is Fall a good "excuse" to NEED this piece??) and the decorations on top!  Hey, sometimes it just helps to see something already put together for ya, doesn't it?  No brain-power involved (since I do that every day for clients anyway!).

What are YOU doing this weekend?

Whatever it is...Make it a "Simply Irresistible" one!

Behind Closed Doors

Do we dare show the "world" what is behind our kitchen cabinet doors?  Well, maybe (if we clean them out first, right?).  I know I'm not the first to think of doing this, but you know what...I have really realized that I think I love this idea.  Here are a few inspiring examples...

That's all the inspiration it took...now, my "tired of white" kitchen (I was tired of it, remember?)...might just soon have a fresh new look. What about YOU...do you like kitchen cabinets with the doors off? We'd love to know YOUR thoughts!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Rod Styles and Finishes

Did you know...even as a designer, it can be overwhelming to makes selections for drapery rods?  Well, it certainly can be.  Rods, brackets, finials, rings, etc...and all the choices that are available to us...yikes!  It's sometimes just a hard decision to make (for me anyway!).

We have several great hardware vendors we work with and since we are getting ready to install more custom window treatments this week, I thought I'd show you a few choices.

Select Drapery Hardware

There are more styles and finishes than you can imagine.  Right size, right color....yes, it can take a bit of time to decide just which ones will be the PERFECT match for the job.

If you'd like some great wood drapery hardware choices next time you're installing...try Select.  I think you'll be pleased!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

My Kind of Beauty

In gearing up for a cool fall weekend...I thought I'd share some beautiful photos with you of a recent trip we took.  OK, now remember, I am totally a BEACH girl...remember?  Even in the fall of the year!  I can't help it...it's in my blood!

View from the hotel (the ocean is just on the other side of those tall buildings!)

Aah, here it is!

And here is another beach...not far away.  I LOVE the white sand!

Palm trees are my favorite...isn't this beautiful?  This is a small beach area built around a lake in this neighborhood.

There is nothing more beautiful than the sunset going down over the Pacific Ocean...oh my gosh...it was incredible and we went to see it every single evening!

The sand and beautiful white shells all around.

The gorgeous landscape everywhere you look...amazing!  Look here at this color palette...green, blue, white, with "pops" of pink.  Oh my my!

Views like this all around...isn't this home gorgeous?  Is it mine you, may ask...not yet  no!

Pool time...with palm trees all around and 90 degrees still...I'll take it any time!

A little glimpse of night life with outdoor dining along the street...oh, and with most of the palm trees covered in white lights.  Now, THAT was absolutely breath-taking.  Here it is...
(and this picture really doesn't capture the beauty of it all)

Now I've got to go from THAT....to a Fall weekend here!  What's a girl to do?  Well, this girl anyway!

Make it a "Simply Irresistible" one!

Paisley...Making a Come Back

Hello readers!  It's been awhile. I wanted to share a bit of interesting High Point Furniture Market trends with you...do you remember PAISLEY?  I certainly do!  Well, I'm here to let you know it's making a come back...in 2013.  Take a look at what one of our vendors released at market.

Now, I bet you remember this pattern, right?  This 600 year old (yes, that's right, 600 years!) paisley symbol is back. Here are some of the new products...
A single paisley teardrop on this lovely organic pillow cover.  I just love these!

These rugs are available in two earth-tone color ways and have the paisley along with a detailed key border...stunning!

Not only is this paisley print awesome, but so is this Moroccan style arch on these ottomans!

More pillows...

This beauty is hand-knotted from pure mountain wool that is hand-spun, hand-dyed and sheared to create this aged patina look.

This "Blossom" collection is from the early paisley fabrics that was woven in Britain for clothing and home decor.

Even their best selling pillow top bench got a make-over with this new paisley fabric.  Don't ya just love it?

The secret is out...more paisley for 2013...both in home decor and fashion trends.  Are YOU ready for some paisley pattern?

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Monday Morning GLAM!

I needed a little "glam" in my Monday morning....how about you?  It's cold (high in the 40's!!) and rainy today - ugh!  Also, if you want to add some holiday "glam" to YOUR homes then you may want to check this out...

What a lovely mosaic mirror!  A great welcoming statement for your foyer or dining room buffet.

Add some "shimmer and shine" to your day...or holiday!

How about a little more glamour atop those beautiful candlesticks?  I'm in love with these!

Maybe even change out your vases with these Amber Luster Mercury Glass ones.

Are you getting the picture...on this cold and rainy day...or ideas for the upcoming holiday season? Let's put them all together...
A few details can change a whole room. Isn't that brilliant?

It's certainly brightened my day...and also given me lots of thoughts about setting MY table this season.  If you like what you see, then you must go HERE and do a little shopping...online or in the store.

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!
