Happy New Year and Company Changes for 2015

Hello dear readers...and Happy New Year a little late!  We have some exciting changes that have transpired that we'd like to share with you.

We have made a move...to good 'ole sunshiny Florida. Yes, southwest Florida, so it's quite the change for us. We love it here and have continued onward with our interior design business...just in a much warmer climate no doubt!

Along with this change came...a company name change! Change is good, right? We are now...ARBORGATE INTERIORS LLC. We will still provide the same amazing interior designs as in the past 29 years and stellar customer service that will continue to surpass even our client's expectations. THAT is something that won't change!!!

We now also offer many new services to cover any and all needs our clients may have...no matter how large or how small a project is. We've already been working with many new clients here in Florida as well as designing some of their summer homes up north. We can also work with you and your friends or referrals...even LONG-DISTANCE...meaning no matter where you live! Close or far-away...it doesn't matter. That's right, we can work with you almost just like being right there in your home, but some of the process will be 'virtual'.  You will even have the option to have an interior designer and yet save on your budget if you prefer to 'manage' your own design project once we've created it for you. You'll know exactly what steps to take (at your own pace, of course) and exactly what to buy and where to place it.  Imagine!

We LOVE doing 'turn-key' design projects here with the local Florida residents as well as being able to continue working with all of our former clients (i.e. any upcoming projects you may have now) and referrals even though we've re-located! So if you, or anyone you know, desire to make your home more beautiful...be sure to contact us.

Yet another change is this...we are going to try and make a bit more time for this BLOG!  I admit, it's been ignored for awhile and pushed to the back burner because of our design projects and also our big move. Our interior design projects still take first priority around here, but our intention is to try and share a little more with our readers in 2015.  So, we are really glad you've stayed with us! May this be YOUR best year yet!

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

FUN Client Challenge

Get ready...get set...GO!  Are you ever up for a good design challenge?  I surely hope so because we are always ready to take on a challenge!  So much so that I have decided to share more of our behind-the-scene design challenges with you this year.  By "challenge" I mean this...a home where the client has already bought and placed furnishings (some thrifted and some new) but is now ready for us to select fabrics and style for her CUSTOM WINDOW TREATMENTS throughout the house and for the Alpha & Omega Interiors design team to also...PULL IT ALL TOGETHER with these fabrics!  Whew!  Sometimes it really is a true challenge...to blend fabrics to what they already have and want to use while trying to make all the rooms flow together...Take a peak at one of our newest design projects we just started working on.

BEFORE

Master Bedroom in need of coordinating window treatments

Existing lamps to be used in here...aren't they gorgeous! (You'll just have to overlook the bedside table cough drops for now - Ha!)

Windows in this room (partial view - yes, with gorgeous palm trees all around!)

and windows also on each side of the bed too

BEFORE

Master Bath window in need of softening with fabric...and to blend in with the colors in the Master Bedroom (above)...Challenge!  Color wise and style wise!

BEFORE

A Dining Room with this rug...

also needing window treatments...but hold on...that's not all...

Challenge!

This picture is in the dining room with this rug....challenge!  The color challenge as well as the style challenge.  It's in need of a fabric not only to tie the rug and the artwork together, but it much also blend with the great room colors as well.  We can accomplish this though!

Oh, and these prints are in that same room too but on a different wall now.  We took them off the window wall to allow more space for draperies to be mounted...(not sure, but we may just re-frame and re-mat these down the road!)

BEFORE

Client's great room furnishings...she added in a little plum color in here.  Challenge - contemporary lighting and art with traditional furniture...adjoins the above dining room and master bedroom....therefore also a color challenge!  You know, it has to FLOW!

(Terrible dark picture - oops!)

Here is the window needing TLC...with fabric! Ya know, to me anyway, an undressed window is as bad as putting on a shirt and pants and that's it...no shoes, no jewelry, no purse, etc. - "Plain Jane" as I tend to say.  Do you agree?

 BEFORE

Then there is the office...with this gorgeous rug

These bookcases...all in need of being pulled together and adding in my favorite element...

more custom window treatments!

BEFORE

A guest bedroom on the opposite end of the house...paired with...

These lamps and this artwork...

And yet another naked window needing our attention!

BEFORE

The next guest bedroom (just down from the other bedroom)...with this artwork already on the wall and ready for us to work with

Notice this window to be 'dressed' and the challenge of the headboard placement here...and the contemporary furnishings in a bedroom right next to the other guest bedroom which is much more traditional...and then there is the color challenge as the artwork in here is grey, blue and pink!

A closer look at the furniture and wood grain in this room.  See the mirror to match...it's staying in here too. (If you see the reflection of another piece of artwork in the mirror - it's been changed out to the one I showed you above!)

BEFORE

This is artwork in a laundry room that we will also be doing for this client...this room is right off from the other guest bedrooms.

And a runner in brown is in here too.

And yet another bare window screaming "dress me please!"

So, want to follow along with us for this project?  There are even two more rooms I didn't even show you today that we will be doing as well.  One is the breakfast nook and the other is one of the guest bathrooms.  Do you think this is a great design challenge?  We'll be working with blending old with the new, contemporary and traditional, coordinating fabrics to bedding and furnishings already there...all while pulling these rooms together by some common thread...WE are ready?  Are YOU?  Join us and we'll be updating you occasionally during the process.  Fun...Fun...Fun....and truly a CHALLENGE! That's what we do best!

We put our heart and soul into each and every design project to make it exactly what our client will love!

Thank you so much for stopping by our blog.

Random Thoughts from the Weekend

One of my favorite things about interior design are the custom products we do...shades, draperies, headboards, bed-covering, etc....I simply LOVE pulling together all the fabrics, styles, and trims.  I am 'in my element' when I do this, no doubt!

Here is a room I adore.  Pleated roman shades dress the window and are topped with simple drapery panels embellished with trim. Then another fabric with a neutral pattern is introduced on the custom headboard and dust ruffle.  Isn't this room lovely?  Are YOU as smitten with custom draperies and bedding as I am?   (Well, actually I really think that cute little dog takes first place in this room!!!)

As you will probably be able to tell from this post I did find some 'me time' over the weekend to relax with some amazing decorating magazines!

We were talking the other day about keeping it simple for the holidays this year...and this one shows us a few great ways to do that...but, what I posted this picture for was...the chair!  I am currently sitting in a chair just like this except for the fabric.  I like this added bit of 'glam' in this otherwise simple room.  Do YOU?  (Hum,  I may now need want to change the fabric on my chair!)

Speaking of Christmas simplicity...

Yes, please!

Inside or outside works...

And this idea is definitely a winner in my book...

I love these simple pops of red in these otherwise neutral rooms...Simply Irresistible to me!

That is all of my 'random' thoughts for today...what did YOU do over the weekend?

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

ROOM REVEAL: Custom Design Installed - Guest Bedroom

I thought I'd share some "before and after" photos with you of a custom design we finished installing for a client just before Christmas. The furniture and bedding/draperies were actually installed a few weeks earlier, but all the little "details" and accessories were installed just in time for her holiday guests.

When we were done...this guest bedroom truly reflected our client's tastes and personality!

Here are a few of the BEFORE photos we took...

We did add this iron piece to serve as a headboard in this room way before we ever got to this room to design.  We did all the other rooms in her house prior to doing this one, but she wanted and needed some sort of headboard, in this small space, at the time.

BEFORE

New bedding and draperies will be designed and custom made especially for her.

BEFORE

Do you recall the other guest bedroom (here) we designed for this same client that had the blue carpet?  Well, this is the other guest bedroom that is separated by a guest bathroom.

BEFORE

We won't be using any of her current furnishings so we'll get to select all of the new pieces that will go in here. Oh, we will be keeping...the blue carpet.

BEFORE

This, now, blank wall will also need something...we won't leave it bare.  The doorway you see a little of is the door into the adjoining bathroom.

BEFORE

In this one you can see the placement of the windows in the room.  Let's start designing it all....shall we?

DESIGN BOARD

Many, many hours are spent pouring over the client's needs/wants, the ever so many styles, sizes, colors, patterns, etc to find just the right materials and furnishings for the project at hand...in the end...here is what we came up with for a design plan to present to her.  The fabrics on the far RIGHT top are the ones we used in the other guest bedroom.  They have to coordinate and flow together.  The top MIDDLE stripe fabric is what we pre-selected for the guest bath...it needed to be decided upon in order to proceed to this bedroom design. These fabric selections are on the LEFT side.  We put all of the fabrics on this design board so she could get the idea that all three rooms would "flow" well.  We ended up making a different lamp selection than the one shown above, but you can see it below in the layout and again in the Room Reveal.

ROOM REVEAL

(Sorry for the darkness...these are NOT professional photos!)

And here are the after photos...

I wish you could see this one better (and I'm no Photoshop expert myself!)...but I have another shot of it, I think, that I'll show towards the end.  One goal was to also pop some RED in this room since the other bedroom and the bath are red.

All of the details thought out beforehand...right down to the right accessories for the bedside table.  See the RED on the bolster we designed and had made.  It pops just the right amount of red on the bedding!

A little dark...sorry again!

Here's the bedside table we selected...with a shelf and drawer.

Our client had books she wanted in the guest room so we placed a blue basket in the floor for these...with a RED tassel on the side (can't really see it here).

Hydrangeas are her favorite flowers...so that once bare wall is bare no more!

We had this side chair custom-made and also a pillow made to match the bedding.  We put a RED throw on the bed and added this fun red pillow in the chair too.  Side table also has a few red items on it...and a funky pair of blue reading glasses...for the guests!!  Details make all the difference in the world...they can really personalize a room!

Another hydrangea with writing that resembles a GUESTroom.  Now, about the "football" pics you see on this wall.  Her hubby was a pro football player (Go Steelers Go...as he would say!) and they have tons of custom-framed football pictures some of which date back to even earlier years when he played the sport. We are planning to do a wall gallery up the hall stairway soon, but she wanted to incorporate some of the pics in here...so we did.  We did a mini-gallery wall of them and added a trio of flower mirrors and a few little canvas bird pictures here and there.  It really looks great...especially in person.  These photos don't really bring out the real "look and feel" of the room.

This one shows it a little better...and we selected this chest so her guests would have a place for their clothes.  The wood-tone we used on this piece is dark and blends in with the darker headboard and drapery hardware on the opposite wall....yet we kept the wood-tone light on the bedside table!  Mixing it up...eclectic...whatever you want to call it...it's their style!

Again, the tiniest of details were selected...even a "bling" clock!  A little mix of feminine and masculine never hurt anyway, huh?

A much better view of the football layout.  A few of these even pop a little more RED!

You might even see the blue glasses on the side table here...do ya? And ya just gotta love this little garden stool serving as a side table here.

A pretty little close-up of the fabrics.

I love, love, love goblet pleated drapery panels.  These were custom-made and the fabric is a cream with tiny small cream squares (dust ruffle, euro sham, bolster and draperies are all in this fabric). The hardware was custom-finished to go with the finish on the iron "headboard".  In person...it is FAB!

Here is a great shot of the custom bolster...the ends are in the blue fabric.  Our clients loved the trim in RED...and all the other details of this room as well.  You can't see it well, but the frame right beside the lamp is a "girly" feminine frame (creme swirlies) and we put a great picture of her hubby in it- very masculine - remember, a football star!  He was funny...and so was his response...of this and that red flower pillow in the chair!  He called me to tease us about it....and then ended his message saying "outstanding job...as always".  We are always SO glad to see and hear our clients SMILE!!!

So, that about wraps up this Room Reveal.  I hope you enjoyed it.  No two projects of ours end up looking the same.  Why? You may ask...because we always listen to our client's desires and come up with a plan that makes the room reflect...THEM!  This is important to us!  Everyone has different tastes, personalities, wishes, likes, budgets...so we aim to please...each and every time!!
