Weekend Fun

What are YOU spending your time doing this weekend?  DIY projects, shopping, finding a little R & R...or what?  As for me, I am actually taking it easy...for a change!  I have walked both dogs (one at a time so I got MORE much needed exercise!), watched a movie, looked at two of my newest design magazines, and just surfing the web for some "fun" stuff.  Here's a little something I ran across...

I dearly love this vibrant ikat-pattern turquoise dinnerware from Z Gallerie.  It's also available in a couple of other colors...but "this" is my fave.  Makes me want to get up from here and cook a great dinner...so THAT my friends is inspiring to me for sure!

Here's another one that inspires me.  The indigo color with all of these stylish seashells would also be a fun, relaxing table theme to create.  Remember, just about "anything" sea inspired will work for me!

For some reason I'm really drawn to these colors...and I love this pattern too.  Want to see the themed table using this one?  Take a look...
Sweet, huh?  Adding this table runner, bold candlesticks, and our elephant friend centerpiece makes this "Simply Irresistible"...wouldn't you agree?

Want some more fun for this lovely weekend?
What do you think about these Oceania Pillar Holders?  Like?  I think they are stunning!  I could see these on the dining table a- midst some gorgeous dinnerware...or even on a cocktail table. These are also available at Z Gallerie.

Oh, and something else colorful and fun...check these out...
How about some brilliant colored Parker Lanterns...what do you think of these?  I like...all you do is just spread the wire to insert the candle...what a great unique look!

Got any outdoor plans for the weekend?  This would do wonders for any outdoor party...I love the black-n-white stripes.  Hanging chandelier...where are you?  A must for a pavilion like this!

To add a touch of splash to those family photos why not try this new look!  I love these!

We all need a fashionable tote for the weekend...right.  Another new arrival at Z Gallerie.

Here we are with my  this lovely color again.  I can't seem to get away from it.  I just adore this new Marcella Storage unit in this fun embossed vinyl with it's nailhead detailing.

Here is a little different twist on candlesticks...the new Draper Pillar Holders.  Aren't the stunning?  Such extravagant detailing for sure!

Last but not least...here's my last little weekend FUN accessory I found...a silver faux crocodile Everglades Travel Set including wallet, cell phone cover, travel jewelry box and passport holder.  Oh, and it's on sale for...$7.39 (also at Z Gallerie).  They have other colors available too...check it out!

I hope you enjoyed taking a look at my little weekend finds that I ran across on my, much needed, day of REST.  Will any of them work for you?  Did you have any interesting finds that you'd like to share...if so, do tell.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend...and make it...

Hi Everyone!

I have been "MIA" for a few days now!  Between client projects and home renovations of our own...the blog time has just dwindled away.  I miss it and hope you do too!  Please be patient and we'll be back to share more.

I hope your week is as beautiful as these new fabrics...

More posts to come soon...stay tuned!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Yellow...Sunshine in Your Room

If yesterday's post didn't set the tone for Spring, then I am sure this will...

Doesn't this room reflect Spring all the way around...I love these chairs around the skirted table.  They are covered in a bright yellow vinyl (now "that's" easy cleaning, right!) with the backs done in a lovely, cheerful, floral linen fabric.  Shades of yellow surround the area...drapes, flooring, and accessories.

Green is a great color to be paired with yellow.  It sort of ushers in Spring as well...wouldn't you agree?  What a great way to pop another color accent - just paint the inside of a china cabinet and you're sure to get a FAB look from it!

Adding a rug in a bright spring color is another way to bring in some instant sunshine to your room...along with those pillows that I mentioned yesterday. Isn't this lovely?

And for a little more sunshine...how about this room?  This lovely rug grounds the entire area and adds a little fun to an otherwise traditional room.  I love the silk draperies...and the fringe!

What's not to love about my  this office (got you, didn't I?) .  Yellow adorns the walls (much like yellow I am in process of adding in my home - yea, really this time!) bringing in that feel of spring and sunshine. Oh, and this gorgeous yellow and gray fabric...and this painted ceiling...oh my, I could settle right in this office...how about YOU?

Here is a simple and easy way that YOU can add in that pop of sunshine!  Oh, and these garden stools...well, I'm even already on the hunt for these...in red (for a client). They are very popular right now and a great way to add not only extra color, but extra seating or side tables.  Fun, aren't they?

If you want to see more springtime sunshine and lots more incredible interior design then head over to Traditional Home.  Kudos to all of these designs as they are indeed "Simply Irresistible".

Hope your day is filled with SUNSHINE!

Happy Spring!

With Spring officially here, I thought I'd share a few rooms that seem to usher in the season...

These luscious pillows in a soft pink certainly do usher in the season...don't ya think?  Something as simple as changing out your pillows can make a huge difference.  Try it!

These colors are bright, bold and beautiful indeed, but how about what fresh flowers will do to a room? (see ottoman)

Flowers add not only freshness...but a touch of color too!  Love this fresh crisp bathroom in white...ooh-la-la!

mirrored houzz
Another lovely white bathroom...and look...more flowers in this one too! Do YOU have flowers in YOUR bathroom?  I do!

Add colorful panels for your artwork...recover (or slip-cover) a chair...and pop in some spring color in your accessories (bookcase please!).

And last but not least...it's time to start enjoying those outdoor meals...are you ready?  I certainly am!  Welcome Spring!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" SPRING Day!

Spring Cleaning!

Would you like a Spring Cleaning Checklist?  Sometimes our Spring cleaning can seem WAY overwhelming...right?  Maybe this can help simplify and make it easier to get the job done.

Spring Cleaning Checklist

The idea of spring cleaning can be refreshing and pretty daunting at the same time. The thought of cleaning your home from top to bottom while targeting every dusty and questionable corner isn’t one most people smile about, but the result leaves you feeling pretty accomplished.
Spring Cleaning is a large-scale task, and most people want to start with the kitchen or the garage. But, I’ve found that it’s better to start small, building your momentum. There are some tasks you can do to prep every room. Cleaning a high traffic area with a low traffic area helps you take on the task in manageable chunks.
Here’s a checklist for putting a dent in that spring cleaning. This first group of areas you’ll tackle in this three part spring cleaning list will be the living areas, dining room and small tasks for every room.
Living Areas
Clean furniture with a vacuum cleaner
Rearrange furniture, cleaning under and behind it
Clear out and wipe drawers, cabinets and book shelves
Dining Room
Wipe and polish table tops and buffet tops
Polish display silver
Wipe down crystal, china and other ceramic display items
Clear and wipe out drawers, china cabinets
Every Room
Dust walls, ceilings, corners and vents
Dust & wipe photographs, decorations and ceiling fans
Spot clean the walls
Wash drapes and rugs
Wipe windows and window sills. Caulk if needed
Vacuum and shampoo the carpet
Polish anything metal
Wax anything wooden
Get re-organized using boxes for donations, recycling and trash
Turn rugs the opposite direction for even wearing

This checklist was provided by a wonderful friend and real estate professional (here).  If you are interested in NC coastal property then be sure to check out her website!  She's everything you could need or
want in a realtor...impeccable service! (Thanks Susan for sharing this                        with us!)

So, here's to happy spring cleaning...and in the process be sure to ...

Make it a "Simply Irresistible" Day!
