Things I LOVE...Day #29

Can you believe it is already the end of February?  My goodness, I cannot believe it.  I do know that with today also being the end of our series "Things I LOVE"... I am excited!  We will get back to posting more interesting things...than about "me"!  Have you ever tried to come up with 29 days of things YOU love?  Not easy, since I'd rather think about others (and other things) than about myself.  It was fun though!

So, with that being said, I have to mention one of the most important things I love...MY FAMILY!!  I am funny about posting personal pictures on here (OK, also because I must admit I don't really have any good recent pictures!).  My family...consisting of everyone in "my" family and my hubby's family (they are like my own!)...means the world to me...they do!  I could not imagine my life without any one of them.  I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family that is always there for one another, no matter what, and shares so much LOVE.  I am indeed truly blessed and I am grateful for this.

I love...MY FAMILY!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Things I LOVE...Day #28

I cannot begin to tell you how much I love my...FRIENDS!

I am so very blessed to have many true friends, both local and long distance. Each and every one of them holds a special place in my heart!  Even when some of us don't talk as often as we'd like to...when we do, it's like we take up right where we left off. I am thankful for these wonderful people in my life.  My life has been richly blessed because of them!

Things I LOVE...Day #27

I love...BUTTERFLIES!  Colorful butterflies catch my attention every time I see them.  I think they are beautiful and I love the fact that they are transformed out of caterpillars...which, to me, is nothing short of a miracle.  Sometimes I've even thought about how "life" seems to do the same thing in us.  We sometimes go through some ugly, painful, and hard times and in the end...transformation has taken place...and we are much more beautiful after having gone through what we had to endure.  The "ugly" and the pain will always bring out the best in us if we have faith and don't give up in the process!  After all, look at the butterfly...

How about a little butterfly LOVE with this gorgeous Schumacher wallpaper..."Birds and Butterflies"...

Look how this project turned out for Armelle... (from here)

See...butterflies can be pretty amazing...don't ya think?  I love this studio of hers!  I think each day would be happy days with this wall (not to mention the color on the floor!).  Be sure to check out her blog for some amazing "finds"...she's a jewelry designer too (here).

So, for today's "Things I Love"...it would have to be BUTTERFLIES!

Have yourself a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Things I LOVE...Day #26

Happy Sunday, dear readers!  Today I'll be sharing with you my love of...ARBORS!

An arbor is defined as "a shady resting place in a garden or park, often made of rustic work or latticework on which plants, such as shrubs or vines, are grown".  I think these arbor spots are a representation of such tranquility and peace...if done right, that is.

Doesn't this entry with the arbor say "welcome" like nothing else?

How about a cottage garden arbor for a delightful entry into the backyard area...great, isn't it?  And you know I love this one in particular with the PINK flowers, right???

I just adore any of them...especially with the flowers.  Can you imagine the beauty and tranquility as you stroll through this one here..."Simply Irresistible", I would imagine.

Firstly...how about this luscious green grass....ah!  I cannot wait for spring to get here.  Here is another arbor that is a little more rustic, since it's constructed with wood...but isn't it gorgeous?  The arbor is covered with green plants and then the colorful flowers in the yard frame it out...let's just say it's a good thing I don't have to "vote" on which I love the most!!

Another stunning entry using moss and creeping thyme...like?  I surely do!

So whether it's an arbor in your own yard...or perhaps an arbor covered walkway at the National Gardens in Athens as pictured here (source)..I simply love...ARBORS...any kind, any where!

How about YOU?  Do you have a thing for arbors?  Have you maybe even designed one for yourself?  If so, we'd love to know.

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Things I LOVE...Day #24

I guess all of this warm weather has gotten the best of me...even though it's only February.  Take a look and see if you can guess what love I am sharing with you today on our "29 Days of Things I Love" series.

Pretty easy guess, huh?  I love...OUTDOOR LIVING SPACES!  Whether it be a cozy front porch, a screened-in porch, a deck...I can always enjoy myself here.  These are spaces that can have charm and personality just like inside your home, but you can relax with a bit of nature surrounding you...sounds pretty nice in this springlike weather!  How about YOU...do you have a cozy space outside that you enjoy?

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Weekend!

Things I LOVE...Day #21

OK, I admit...just for today...I am in LOVE with this LAMP!! One of our team designers was looking at this lamp for her own living room (with a gorgeous white shade).  I wanted to take a peek at it and voila...here was THIS gorgeous thing with this "to die for" shade on it!!  I am swooning, yes swooning, over this right now...where can "I" use this baby?

We indeed carry this line of lamps...so if you'd like a gorgeous pair of these too...just let us know!  You can post a comment and we'll get back with you.

So, for today...THIS LAMP is one of the things I love!

Things I LOVE...Day #20

Today I will share with you my love of...SCRAPBOOKING! Well, let's just say I do love it, but it seems I never have the time to do it anymore.  Can we find a way to just slow life down a bit?  Is it possible?  I really enjoy looking at other's scrapbook pages or cards...and then finding room designs that remind me of the scrapbook design. I've done this on some Friday posts before, remember?  Here are a few more (with some wonderful scrapbook designs, so be sure to check out their linked blogs if you are interested!!  You'll be inspired, I promise!)

How about YOU...do any of you find scrapbooking as fascinating as I do?  The pattern mix-and-match, color coordinating, embellishing with all sorts of unique things...is just like interior design to me!  Just on a much smaller scale. Crazy, I know, but that is really how I feel when I design a layout for my pictures...I am "creating" an entire page design.  I love it!

Things I LOVE...Day #19

Things I love...to share with you on this lovely Sunday...hum!  I think it will have to be...AREA RUGS!  I do indeed love area rugs because they "cozy up" the space, add another layer of color, and define the spaces (such as conversation areas). Today I'll share a few of these "loves" with you from Serena and Lily.

Leaf Deco Frame Rug in Blue (available here)

Leaf Deco Frame Rug in Green (available here)

Don't YOU just love the framed out rugs?  A few other color options are available as well, but I thought these were stunning.  These are 100% cotton dhurrie rugs that are handwoven in India.

Here is another dhurrie rug that is sure to pop some inspiration into a room in this Pumpkin color (available here) .  I love the knotted fringe too!

Here is the blush color...ah...you KNOW I love this one (available here).  Such a soothing color way this is.

Now this one takes its geographic design from a mix of the traditional herringbone and chevron patterns...called the Feather Rug (available here).

Here is the Orchid colorway in the same rug (available here).  "Simply Irresistible" to me!  How about to YOU?  Like it...or love it maybe?

If you'd rather bring in a little different personality into a room...why not try this beautiful Natural Flora Crocheted Rug (here).  This all over crocheted pattern is sure to cozy up any area or nook.

The Chevron Cross Rug in Marine (here) is an updated and more modern look of the traditional chevron pattern that we see so much of.  This one is actually a 100% wool rug too and is sure to bring a great bold look into any room...and yet not overpower it.  It is available in several other colors as well.

There is such a wide array of area rug styles available today so finding that perfect match for a room shouldn't be to hard.  Now, can you see why I have a love for...AREA RUGS?

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Sunday!

Things I LOVE...Day #18

Wishing I were in a city I love...CHARLESTON, SC.  Yep, that is one of my "loves". Have you been there?

I love to walk the waterfront at the battery and take in all the gorgeous homes and architectural features.

Shopping Upper King
There is nothing like doing a little (well, a lot really!) shopping on King Street. There are plenty of merchants with lots to look at!

Galleries Galore
It seems there are art galleries on almost every corner...so be sure to stop in a few. You never know what treasure you may find to take home with you!

10 Things Every Visitor Must Do
And a MUST to do...take a carriage ride!

Tour With Your Taste Buds
How about a Lowcountry cooking class while you're there to learn more about their unique cuisine?  Sound fun?

Schooner Pride, Sailing Tours Charleston, SC
Maybe you'd like to experience some sight-seeing out on the water...past the USS Yorktown, the Arthur Ravenel Jr. suspension bridge, with glimpses of Rainbow Row, or perhaps chasing the ghosts (??)of Blackbeard...all of this can be done with a sailing tour (here).

Oh, and for a "beach girl" like me...it's also a must to take a ride over to one of the nearby islands, like Folly Beach, Sullivan's Island or even Isle of the Palms while you're there.  Any one of these will do for me!
Why not try this old Southern city in South Carolina...it's sure to be a trip your won't forget.  There's nothing quite like the Southern Charm found there!!

Have a "Simply Irresistible" Day!

Things I LOVE...Day #15

Today I'm sharing with you my love of mixing FABRICS! This is the most exciting part of my design business...to me that is!  I always enjoy "digging my heels in" to find the perfect pairing of fabrics for our clients. I start by pulling the main fabric choice and then begin selecting possible coordinates to use with it.  Lots of initial choices are usually laid out, but then I do a process of elimination right down to the best possible combo for the client's design project.

Take a peak at a few...

How do YOU feel about mixing fabric patterns?
